Characterization of calvarial defects in Marfan syndrome models
Description
Marfan syndrome is a human birth defects syndrome caused by mutations in FBN1 gene, and some cases include defects in the calvaria (top part of the skull). To understand developmental mechanisms underlying these defects, we examined mouse mutants with a mutation in Fbn1 gene, which recapitulate many aspects of the Marfan syndrome. This dataset includes photographic images of the developing calvaria of the mouse Fbn1 mutant and control animals, processed by various staining techniques such as RNA in situ hybridization, immunofluorescence, and alizarin red mineral staining.
