East View Egyptian Census Data, 2017

This collection comprises 13 geospatial datasets from Egypt's 2017 National Census, collected by the Central Agency For Public Mobilization And Statistics (CAPMAS) and documented and restructured by East View Cartographic, Inc. The collection includes 12 Shapefile polygon layers organized across four thematic categories — Demographic, Economic, Housing, and Social — at three administrative levels: Governorate (ADM1), Qism/Markaz (ADM2), and Shyakha/Qurya (ADM3/4). The thirteenth item (nyu_2451_63574) is the source geodatabase from which the thematic layers were derived. Demographic indicators include sex, marital status, and age; economic indicators cover employment and economic activity; housing indicators document dwelling characteristics; and social indicators encompass education and literacy. The Shyakha/Qurya level includes 5,890 polygons with 97 attribute variables per thematic layer. All variable names were translated from Arabic, with field name prefixes used to organize attributes by theme (D = Demographic, E = Economic, H = Housing, S = Social). Geographic names and codes are retained in Arabic alongside English translations. The local projection is EPSG:32636 (WGS 84 / UTM zone 36N).
