ESRI Data Maps Europe, 2010

This collection comprises four Shapefile layers from ESRI Data Maps 10 (Europe), distributed with ArcGIS 10. Each layer represents aggregated socioeconomic and demographic information for Europe at a different level of the NUTS (Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics) hierarchy: NUTS 0 (country level), NUTS 1 (major socioeconomic regions, averaging 3–7 million people), NUTS 2 (basic regions for the application of regional policies, averaging 800,000–3,000,000 people), and NUTS 3 (small regions for specific diagnoses, averaging 150,000–800,000 people). Variables include population, demographic, and socioeconomic indicators compiled from Eurostat.
