China Data Center Township Census Data, 2010

This collection comprises ten geospatial datasets documenting China's physical geography, administrative boundaries, transportation infrastructure, and demographic characteristics as of 2010, assembled from the China Data Center Township Census Files. Administrative layers include county boundaries, province boundaries, and coastlines and islands. Transportation layers cover township-level rail routes, state roads, highways, and provincial trunk roads. Hydrological layers include the main rivers of China as both polygon and line features. A census layer provides township-level population point data drawn from the 2010 China Census. Source data for most transportation and boundary layers originates from the National Geomatic Center of China (NGCC) and was compiled by Beijing Hua tong ren shi chang xin xi you xian ze ren gong si. All datasets are in Shapefile format and support research on China's administrative geography, transportation networks, hydrology, and census demography. The format for data included with this record is predominantly line data, but also consists of polygon and point data as well.
