NYU Libraries Data Collections Dictionary

The NYU Libraries Data Collections Dictionary was created in Spring 2025 to improve internal data collection workflows and coordination across departments. It defines various types of data products and key terms including descriptors to establish a shared language, build literacy, and ensure an appreciation for domain specificity. This document was presented at the 2026 International Association for Social Science Information Service and Technology (IASSIST) Conference (online).
