Miss Maggie Harte, North Muskegon, Mich., W
O'Gorman, Youngstown. NY., John P Hartnett,
Bellows Falls Vermont, and TV Meehan. Chica¬
go, Ill. send answers to the last problem. Miss
Harte says.—
"Here is the answer I got
Your two acres of grass.
Where you tethered our ass
In a circle he surely must feed, —
Get a rope 10.092 rds. long
And then he will get all he need. —
sé Ḃ-fuil go ceart agam? Slán leat"
The next problem is one which we have seen
with one of the public school children of the grad¬
uating class of this district, and we want to see
the formula fully worked out, —
x plus y equal 4 times x divided by y, and x
minus y equal 2 times x divided by y. What are
the numbers?
Nothing tends to expand the youthful mind so
much as the study of such problems as these.
