Ná Sliaḃ a' Dolláin giḋ go m-buḋ ṁór é,
'S ná Sliaḃ Sioġáin boċt, lán brónaċ.
Do ḃí máṫair a' diaḃail grána ann
'S páipéar bán aice d'á ḃreacaḋ,
A n-dúḃairt 's a n-deárnas ariaḃ ó ḃíḋeas mo leanḃ
Do ḃí sé sgríoḃṫa síos air ċlár m' eudain go tapa.
D' imṫiġeas suas go dorus na ḃ-flaiṫis,
Do ḃí an doirseóir ann, Naoṁ Peadar;
D' ḟiafruiġ sé ḋíom ca m-biḋim air a d-talaṁ,
Nó an mé an t-anam a ḃí ann Seáġan de Barra.
Ṫáinic Mac Dé, ceud molaḋ go deo leis,
Do ċuir sé coiste an dáreug go geur air m' anam,
Do fuair siad daor mé de réir mo ḃeartaiḃ,
Agus dúḃairt sé gur i n-ifrionn ṡíos a ḃí mo leaba.
Ṫainic máṫair Dé, ceud molaḋ go deo léiṫe,
D'uaillig sí 's d' eug sí 's ġread sí a bosa,
Agus d' iar sí air a mac a taḃairt diṫ mar ṡaiḃreas,
A' t-anam a ḃí ann Seáġan de Barra
"A ṁáṫair a' lae ġil, is cruaiḋ an niḋ sin,
A ḃeiṫ taḃairt na flaiṫeas don té nár ṫoil é."
"Má seaḋ cuir air a d-talaṁ é a teagasg na n-daoine
Nó cuir faoi 'n ḃ-fearṫainn é ó ṁaidin go f'oiḋċe."

Probably, no other journal published has a more
enlightened constituency than The Gael.
To keep a head, this issue is dated April; look
to the numbers 1, 2 3, etc. for the consecutive order
England will never give Ireland Home Rule until
the Irish shall make it plain to her that she shall
lose more than she will gain by refusing it. Hence,
the Irish, if true to their nationality, and not blatant
fools, or hypocrites, will strike English interest on
the head whenever and wherever they see it. The
Orange cry of old was, “Wherever you see a Crop¬
pie's head strike it.” The lrish in Australia, Cana¬
da, and the United States can strike English inter¬
ests an effective blow, and if they do so the English
will let Ireland go if the Parnellites and the McCar¬
thyites were at the bottom of the sea.
The Tory-Mugwump element has had influence
enough to prevent us from having a navy so as to
keep us under a cow to England. What about the
horrid Italians, Eh ?
