It is said that Cardinals Gibbons, Logue and
Vaughan are striving to bring about arbitration
as a means of settling international disputes. The
Gael endorses the idea if it commence ab initio —
not otherwise.

Gratuitous Instruction In The Language of
Their Country.
The Boston Philo Celtic Society (organized 1873),
meets every Sunday in St. Rose Hall, 117 Worces¬
ter street, from 3 to 7 P. M., and Wednesday eve¬
nings at 6 Whitmore st. from 8 to 10.
The Brooklyn Philo-Celtic Society meets in At¬
lantic Hall, corner Court and Atlantic (entrance on
Atlantic outside) streets, Sundays at 7 P. M.
The Chicago Gaelic League meets very after¬
noon at 2 p. m., in room 3, City Hall building,
Chicago. For information as to organizing clubs,

Brownson's Lyceum Hall, 193 Westminster street,
Providence, R. I.
The Brooklyn Society outsrips its sister societies
in having an Irish Journal of its own. But this
should cause no jealousy, nay, it should egg socie¬
ties to exert in circulating it, and not only them
but every selfrespecting Irish man and woman who
do not desire to see their Nationality merged with
