Mr. A. P. Ward’s Gaelic letter to the Gael is cop¬

who wish to see it in the modern Roman type with
the diacritical aspiration point should get that truly
national journal.
We have often urged our fellow countrymen of
the South and West of Ireland, if they desired to
be informed of the actual state of affairs there to
get the Tuam News.
Seinn a Chaomh-Chruit!
Fonn — Ní'l fios air.
Sing, Sweet Harp.]
Seinn, a chaomh-chruit, dam-sa seinn
Ceol air an am a bhí,
A dhúsóchas le n-a ghaethe binn'
Brón chuimhne in ar g-croidhe:
Ceol a mheamhróchas dúinn árd-tuadh
sgeith soluis air an t-slighe,
'Gus gaisgidh mhór le báird 'g luadh'
,S doighe 'nois, faoi smuid na h-oidhche.
Seinn, a chruit chaomh, dam-sa seinn,
Is ionnan ar g-cran go deo.
Do'n t-saoghal so feasd' ni bhainean sinn
A g-cian amháin tám' beo.
Nach brónach osnaigheal gaeth' na h-oidhche
Measg do theuda fann!
Amhuil stáiridheacht tuairisg guth na sigh
Nar cluineadh le fad' ann:
Guth cinnfeart 'tá 'nois faoi sgáil,
Raibh a d-tuath, réir meas síor-bhuan
'Gus filidh sealbhadh céim a's cáil'
Gan ainm 'nois faoi shuan.
Á chruit 'tá osnaighil guth na h-oidhche.
Measg do theuda fann,
Is dimhaoin tuairisc guth na sigh
Le fada nach rabh ann.
Dar bh' fhéidir duit-se blaoch air ais
Chum do bhothan geug,
Na gaisgidh' d'éist leat, nois 'na d-tháis
Á's sostach 'néis dóibh eug.
Cad fáth, ní éiróchaidh cuimh' le deor,
Bheith cuimhniugh'dh bruid' clan daor;
Fág iad- mar sin, faoi thamh go leor,
Tá na mairbh amháin saor.

Na saoirse, no 'g éisteacht leat le cúimh',
